Cookiee Kawaii

Cookiee Kawaii, born Vanice Palmer in Irvington, New Jersey, is a vocalist, producer and DJ raised in a house-music household who came up through the Jersey club scene. Her sound spans Jersey club, R&B and rap, drawing on the bouncy, sample-chopping rhythms of her hometown scene while adding her own melodic, playful edge.

She broke through in 2019 with «Vibe (If I Back It Up)», a track built on the signature mattress-squeak sample of Jersey club that went viral and, boosted by TikTok in 2020, became a defining club anthem of its era, racking up massive streaming numbers well beyond the genre's usual reach. She followed it with additional versions of the track and further releases including the «Club Soda, Vol. 1» EP and «Satori», a mellower R&B-leaning collaboration with jtbs.

Her stage name nods to her love of sweets and anime aesthetics, reflected in the bright, high-energy visual identity around her music. Cookiee Kawaii went on to release her debut album, «Vanice», cementing her role as one of the artists who carried Jersey club from a regional New Jersey sound into mainstream pop and streaming culture.
