About the artist
Conan Osíris is the stage name of Portuguese singer-songwriter Tiago Miranda, born January 5, 1989. Self-taught and without formal musical training, he built a cult following through irreverent, genre-blending songs that mix pop, electronic textures, and rap cadences with playful, slang-filled Portuguese lyrics. He first released material independently, including the digital EP «Cathedral» in 2011, before his debut album «Música, Normal» (2016) established his idiosyncratic approach: music meant to serve whatever mood the listener needs, from dancing to crying.
His stage name combines a childhood fascination with the anime Conan — O Rapaz do Futuro and the Egyptian god Osiris. He broke into the mainstream by winning Festival RTP da Canção 2019 with «Telemóveis», representing Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest that year with a performance noted for its theatrical, unconventional staging. That exposure made him one of Portugal's most distinctive pop figures, known for songs like «Adoro Bolos», «Celulitite», and «Borrego».
He was named Artista Revelação (Breakthrough Artist) at the 2019 Play – Prémios da Música Portuguesa, and has continued touring across Portugal, keeping a reputation as an uncompromising, outsider voice in the country's pop landscape.
