Coma_Cose

Coma_Cose were an Italian pop duo formed in Milan in 2016 by Fausto Lama (Fausto Zanardelli), originally from Salò, and California (Francesca Mesiano), from Pordenone. The pair met while working in a shop in Milan's Ticinese district and became partners both romantically and musically, remaining a couple throughout the group's existence until it ended in 2025. Before Coma_Cose, Fausto Lama had earlier musical experience in the rap duo Gleastilisti in the late 1990s and later as the singer-songwriter project Edipo.

The duo's sound blended pop songwriting with rap cadences and rock textures, mixing everyday storytelling with social commentary and irony, delivered through California's distinctive spoken-sung vocals alongside Fausto Lama's melodic lines. Their name, chosen to evoke a liminal mental state between sleep and waking, reflected the mix of real-life observation and social critique running through their lyrics.

They gained wider recognition through tracks like «Cuoricini» and «Malavita», and became known nationally for their appearances at the Sanremo Music Festival, where songs such as «Fiamme negli occhi» and «L'addio» brought them mainstream attention. Their catalogue, including songs like «Mancarsi», «Anima lattina» and «Post Concerto», established them as a distinctive voice in contemporary Italian pop before the duo disbanded in 2025.
