About the artist

Colonel Reyel, born Rémi Ranguin on October 5, 1984, is a French singer-songwriter of Guadeloupean origin. He began his career around 2000 with the Septentrional Crew, releasing dancehall freestyles, before launching a solo path with the mixtape BOOMAZ Mixtape, vol. 1, produced by DJ Doug. His breakthrough came in December 2010 with the single «Celui», which topped the French charts.

His debut studio album Au rapport followed on April 11, 2011, carried by hits such as «Celui», «Toutes les nuits», and «Aurélie». The record was later certified double platinum in France with over 200,000 copies sold, cementing him as one of the leading voices of French urban pop of the early 2010s, blending R&B, zouk-tinged rhythms and radio-friendly pop melodies.

He returned in September 2012 with the album Soldat de l'amour, featuring «Toi & moi», though it did not match the commercial success of its predecessor. After stepping back from the industry, he made a comeback in August 2016 with «Bando Love», signaling a new chapter in his career while retaining the warm, melodic pop-R&B sound that defined his early work.
