Coast Modern

Coast Modern is a Los Angeles-based duo composed of Seattle native Luke Atlas and Los Angeles-based Coleman Trapp, who came together after meeting in the early 2010s. The pair build a breezy, west coast-inflected sound that blends electro-pop production with elements of indie rock, hip hop rhythm, and psychedelic textures, positioning them within a wave of genre-blending pop acts that emerged in the mid-2010s.

The duo's early singles, including «Hollow Life», «Animals» and «Guru», established their signature mix of warm synths, layered vocal harmonies, and loose, groove-driven arrangements that felt equally at home on rock and pop radio formats. «Hollow Life» in particular drew wide attention and positive reception, helping introduce the group to audiences beyond Los Angeles.

Coast Modern's sound draws on a sun-bleached, laid-back Southern California sensibility while pulling in outside influences, giving their catalog a loose, exploratory feel rather than adhering to a single genre formula.
