About the artist
Christina Milian is an American singer, songwriter and actress who emerged in the early 2000s as part of the R&B and pop crossover wave aimed at mainstream American radio. Born Christine Marie Flores, she signed with Murder Inc. Records as a teenager and released her self-titled debut album in 2001. Her breakthrough came with the 2004 album «It's About Time», led by the hit single «Dip It Low», which reached the top five of the U.S. Billboard chart and became her signature song.
Her sound blended smooth R&B vocals with pop production and occasional rap-inflected verses, fitting the crossover style popular in mid-2000s American radio. She followed up with «So Amazin'» in 2006 before moving between labels, eventually landing with Interscope Records and releasing the ballad «Us Against the World». Tracks such as «AM to PM» and «Say I» further cemented her presence on pop and R&B charts of the period.
In the 2010s Milian signed with Young Money Entertainment, aligning herself with hip-hop's growing influence on mainstream pop. Alongside her recording career, she became known for television and film work, making her one of the more visible multi-hyphenate artists of her generation. She remains associated with the flirtatious, danceable R&B-pop sound of the 2000s.
