Chris Jedi

Chris Jedi, born Carlos Ortiz, is a Puerto Rican record producer and songwriter who became one of the key architects of modern reggaeton and Latin trap production. He frequently works alongside his longtime production partner Gaby Music, and together the duo has shaped the sound behind many of the genre’s biggest hits.

Over his career, Chris Jedi has collaborated with a roster of major urbano artists, including Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Ozuna, Anuel AA and Arcangel, contributing beats and arrangements that helped define the genre’s crossover into mainstream pop and R&B-influenced territory. His production style blends heavy reggaeton rhythms with polished, radio-friendly hooks.

His best-known production credit is «Ahora Dice» (2017), performed by Ozuna alongside Arcangel and J Balvin, which reached number 7 on the Hot Latin Songs chart and amassed over a billion views on YouTube. The track remains one of the defining reggaeton hits of the late 2010s and a career highlight for Chris Jedi as a producer.
