Cher Lloyd

Cher Lloyd is an English singer, songwriter and rapper from Malvern, Worcestershire, who rose to fame as a teenager on the 2010 series of The X Factor UK, finishing in fourth place. Her audition, a version of Soulja Boy's «Turn My Swag On», set her apart from typical talent-show contestants and quickly made her a standout for blending pop hooks with a rap-inflected delivery.

After the show she signed to Simon Cowell's Syco Music and released her debut album, Sticks + Stones, which produced the UK number one single «Swagger Jagger». Targeting the American market, she reworked her song «Want U Back» as a solo single, and its success on the Billboard Hot 100 led to a deal with Epic Records and a reissue of the album for US audiences, which reached the top ten of the Billboard 200.

Lloyd's sound blends pop, R&B, rap and electronic production, often pairing sung choruses with rapped verses, a style heard on singles like «Oath», «I Wish» and «None of My Business».
