Chappell Roan

Chappell Roan, born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz on February 19, 1998, is an American singer-songwriter whose flamboyant drag-inspired pop has made her one of the defining new voices in mainstream music. Discovered as a teenager after posting the song «Die Young» online, she was briefly signed to Atlantic Records before being dropped following the modest initial performance of «Pink Pony Club» in 2020. She continued developing her sound with producer Dan Nigro, eventually releasing her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess in 2023 through his label Amusement Records.

Her music blends synth-pop, electronic production, and theatrical camp with occasional forays into rock and country textures, drawing comparisons to Kate Bush and Lady Gaga while channeling drag-queen aesthetics and queer culture into anthemic hooks.
