CHAEYOUNG

CHAEYOUNG, born Son Chaeyoung in Seongnam, South Korea, is a rapper and singer best known as a member of the JYP Entertainment girl group TWICE. She trained under JYP for several years before earning her spot in the lineup through the reality survival show Sixteen, debuting with the group and becoming known for her rap verses, visual art and painting hobby, and playful stage presence.

Within TWICE's Melody Project cover series she built a following for acoustic, guitar-led covers, including a viral 2021 duet with groupmate DAHYUN. That side of her artistry — stripped-back, guitar-forward songwriting distinct from TWICE's bright group sound — set up her solo path.

In September 2025 she released her solo debut album, LIL FANTASY vol.1, led by the disco-tinged single «SHOOT (Firecracker)». The record also features «AVOCADO», a slower collaboration with Japanese rock trio Gliiico, and «내 기타 (My Guitar)», a song she had already performed live during TWICE's READY TO BE tour before its studio release. The album showcases a more personal, singer-songwriter side of her separate from her group work.
