Caroline Polachek

Caroline Polachek is an American singer, songwriter and producer from New York City. She first gained recognition as the vocalist of the indie band Chairlift before pursuing a wide-ranging solo career under several names, including Ramona Lisa and CEP, before releasing music under her own name.

Her solo work, including the acclaimed album «Pang» and songs like «So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings», «Bunny Is a Rider» and «Welcome to My Island», blends pop, electronic and R&B influences with an experimental, art-pop sensibility, marked by her distinctive vocal acrobatics and unconventional production choices. Collaborators on her solo output have included A. G. Cook, Danny L Harle and Daniel Nigro.

Beyond her own releases, Polachek has built a significant reputation as a songwriter and producer for other artists, notably co-writing Beyoncé’s «No Angel», establishing her as an influential figure connecting underground pop experimentation with mainstream songwriting.
