Caro Emerald, born Caroline Esmeralda van der Leeuw, is a Dutch singer known for blending vintage jazz and swing sounds with modern pop production. She emerged from Amsterdam's music scene and rose to national prominence with her debut album, «Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor», which became a chart phenomenon in the Netherlands, holding the number one spot for an extraordinary run of consecutive weeks.

Her style draws heavily on 1920s-1960s jazz, cabaret, and big-band influences filtered through contemporary electronic and pop arrangements, a formula heard on hits like «Back It Up», «That Man», and «A Night Like This».
