Carlos Rivera

Carlos Rivera is a Mexican singer and actor from Tlaxcala, born on March 15, 1986. He rose to national fame in 2004 as the winner of the reality talent show La Academia, which launched his recording career and led to his self-titled debut album a few years later. Since then he has built a career that spans pop ballads, musical theater, and film, becoming one of Mexico's most recognizable male vocalists.

Rivera's sound sits firmly in mainstream Latin pop, built around big romantic ballads and polished, radio-friendly production, with occasional forays into more traditional or country-tinged arrangements. Songs such as «100 Años», «Me Muero», «Perdiendo la Cabeza» and «Te Esperaba» showcase his powerful, theatrical vocal style, which has also made him a natural fit for musical theater roles in Mexico, including lead parts in major stage productions.

His international profile grew significantly in 2017 when he recorded the Spanish-language version of «Remember Me» («Recuérdame») for the Disney-Pixar film Coco, introducing him to a much wider Latin American and global audience. That song remains one of his best-known works. Rivera continues to release new material and tour extensively across Latin America and the United States, balancing his recording career with acting and stage work.
