About the artist
Camila is a Mexican pop-rock band formed in 2005 by Mario Domínguez, Samuel Parra Cruz (known as Samo) and Pablo Hurtado. The trio quickly became one of the most successful Spanish-language pop acts of the late 2000s and early 2010s, blending romantic balladry with radio-friendly pop-rock arrangements and emotionally direct lyrics about love.
Their breakthrough songs, including «Todo Cambió», «Mientes» and «Bésame», became massive hits across Latin America and the US Latin market, defined by Samo's distinctive lead vocals, layered harmonies, and polished acoustic-to-electric production. Albums like the one that produced «Coleccionista de Canciones» reinforced their reputation as consistent hitmakers within the Latin pop-rock landscape.
In 2013 Samo left the band to pursue a solo career, a significant turning point that reshaped the group's lineup and public narrative. Despite this, Camila's catalog from its original trio era remains a touchstone of 2000s–2010s Latin pop, remembered for its combination of accessible melodies and heartfelt, confessional songwriting.
