Brooke Ligertwood

Brooke Ligertwood is a New Zealand-born singer-songwriter and worship leader who first found mainstream success in her home country as Brooke Fraser, releasing multi-platinum albums and radio hits before shifting her career focus toward congregational and worship music. She relocated to Sydney, Australia, in the mid-2000s, where she became deeply involved with Hillsong Church, eventually becoming a central songwriter and creative leader within the Hillsong movement alongside her husband, Scott Ligertwood.

Her worship writing blends pop and rock sensibilities — soaring melodies, anthemic choruses, and polished contemporary production — with lyrics rooted in scripture and devotional themes. She has penned some of modern congregational music's most widely sung songs, including «Hosanna», «Desert Song» and «What a Beautiful Name», the latter becoming one of the defining worship anthems of the 2010s. Her live recordings, such as «Honey in the Rock» and «A Thousand Hallelujahs», reflect the expansive, communal production style associated with Hillsong's live worship albums.
