About the artist
Broods is a sibling duo from Nelson, New Zealand, made up of Georgia Nott on lead vocals and her older brother Caleb Nott handling production and backing vocals. Raised in a musical family, the pair moved to Auckland in 2013 to pursue the project after connecting with producer Joel Little, best known for co-writing Lorde's early hits.
Their sound sits at the intersection of synth-pop and electronic dream-pop: airy, emotionally direct vocals over polished, atmospheric production, often exploring vulnerability, heartbreak and self-doubt. The single «Bridges» launched them in New Zealand before they signed internationally, and their 2014 debut album Evergreen — followed by Conscious (2016) and Don't Feed the Pop Monster (2019) — established them as one of New Zealand's most successful pop exports of the 2010s.
Broods have built a devoted following through introspective songwriting and a close creative partnership with Little, with songs like «Everytime» and «Free» showcasing their evolution from moody electro-pop toward brighter, more expansive arrangements. Their music has resonated particularly with listeners drawn to emotionally candid, synth-driven pop in the lineage of acts like Lorde and CHVRCHES.
