About the artist
Bohnes is the solo project of Alexander DeLeon, previously known as the vocalist and founder of the pop-rock band The Cab. He launched Bohnes in 2015, taking the alias from the catacombs of Paris, and used it to explore a darker, more brooding sound than his earlier band work, blending alternative rock with electronic and R&B textures.
After a string of singles released across 2015 to 2017, Bohnes issued his debut full-length, «206: Act I», in 2018, named after the Seattle-area area code reflecting his roots. The project is defined by moody, atmospheric production paired with anthemic hooks, often dealing with themes of heartbreak, obsession, and emotional intensity, as heard on tracks like «Middle Finger» and «Guns and Roses».
DeLeon has described his songwriting process as instinctive, preferring to write quickly and while having fun rather than laboring over material. Bohnes has continued to build a catalog of dark-pop and alt-rock singles, cultivating a devoted following drawn to the project's theatrical, emotionally raw style distinct from his earlier pop-punk roots.
