Bob Rivers

Bob Rivers (born 1956 in Branford, Connecticut) is an American radio broadcaster best known for a long career as a Seattle morning-show host and for writing comedic song parodies, particularly of Christmas classics. He built his reputation less as a recording artist in the traditional sense and more as a radio personality whose parody songs became a fixture of holiday radio play across the United States.

His best-known work is the album «Twisted Christmas», featuring parody staples such as «Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire» and «I Am Santa Claus», which achieved gold certification and turned him into one of the most recognizable names in comedic Christmas music. Beyond the holiday material, he produced parodies covering pop culture and everyday absurdities, delivered with the broad, radio-friendly humor typical of morning-show entertainment.

Rivers spent decades on Seattle radio, most notably hosting «The Bob Rivers Show» on KJR-FM until 2014, and continued to perform with an affiliated cover band. His work occupies a niche at the intersection of radio comedy and novelty music rather than mainstream pop or rock songwriting.
