BLØF

BLØF are a Dutch rock band formed in 1992 in Middelburg, in the province of Zeeland. Fronted by singer and guitarist Paskal Jakobsen, alongside bassist Peter Slager, keyboardist Bas Kennis and drummer Norman Bonink, the band built its reputation the hard way, self-recording and self-promoting their debut album «Naakt Onder de Hemel» in the mid-1990s before it became a regional hit that launched their national career.

BLØF's sound blends radio-friendly rock with pop songwriting and, in later years, elements of electronic production, always anchored by Jakobsen's distinctive, emotive vocal delivery and lyrics sung entirely in Dutch. That commitment to their native language, paired with big, anthemic choruses, helped the band become one of the most consistently popular acts in the Netherlands, filling stadiums and headlining major festivals for decades.

Songs like «Zoutelande» (a collaboration with Geike Arnaert of Hooverphonic), «Dansen Aan Zee» and «Omarm» are staples of Dutch radio and live shows, reflecting the band's connection to their coastal Zeeland roots and their knack for widescreen, sing-along rock. Across a long career, BLØF has remained a fixture of Dutch popular music, respected for both its longevity and its steady evolution.
