Björn Skifs

Björn Skifs is a Swedish singer who became one of the country's most enduring pop and schlager performers from the early 1970s onward. He first gained wide attention fronting the band Blåblus (later known internationally as Blue Swede), whose 1974 cover of «Hooked on a Feeling» — with its distinctive ooga-chaka chant — topped the US Billboard Hot 100, a rare feat for a Swedish act at the time. Alongside that international breakthrough, Skifs built a long solo career at home built on radio-friendly Swedish and English-language pop.

His sound blends light rock, schlager, and mainstream pop, favoring catchy hooks and a warm, theatrical vocal delivery. He became a fixture of Melodifestivalen, Sweden's Eurovision selection show, representing the country on more than one occasion and remaining a well-known presence in Swedish popular music and television for decades.
