Birdy

Birdy, born Jasmine van den Bogaerde in Hampshire, England, is a singer-songwriter and pianist who rose to prominence at just fourteen with her hushed, piano-led cover of Bon Iver's «Skinny Love» in 2011. Coming from a musical family, she began playing piano as a child and writing songs soon after, and her early success established the delicate, atmospheric style that has defined her career.

Her self-titled debut collected covers, including «People Help the People» and «Skinny Love», that became fixtures on streaming and film soundtracks. She followed it with «Fire Within», her first album of original material, showcasing her songwriting alongside her instantly recognisable, breathy vocal delivery and sparse piano arrangements. Later work, including songs like «Wings» and «Wild Horses», leaned further into cinematic, emotionally intimate pop and folk textures.

Birdy's music has often found a home in film and television, with tracks such as «Not About Angels» and «Let It All Go» (the latter a collaboration with RHODES) featured prominently on major soundtracks. Her understated, melancholic sound has made her a distinctive voice in contemporary British singer-songwriter pop.
