About the artist
BIGBANG is a South Korean boy band formed by YG Entertainment, debuting in August 2006 with members G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung and formerly Seungri. The group is widely credited with reshaping K-pop by writing and producing much of their own material, blending hip-hop, EDM and pop in a way that influenced a generation of Korean acts. G-Dragon served as the group's main songwriter and creative force, while Taeyang and Daesung anchored the vocals and T.O.P delivered the group's distinctive rap style.
After breaking through with hits like «Lies» in 2007, BIGBANG built a run of era-defining singles including «Haru Haru», «Fantastic Baby», «Bang Bang Bang» and «Loser», each pairing bold production with anthemic hooks. Their album Alive and the Made series cemented their status as one of the best-selling and most influential groups in Korean music history, with members also pursuing successful solo careers alongside the group's activities.
BIGBANG's catalog is marked by genre experimentation, sharp visual concepts and a willingness to take creative risks rarely seen in idol pop, which earned them a reputation as trendsetters rather than followers. Their impact extended well beyond South Korea, helping popularize K-pop in international markets during the 2010s and shaping the sound and ambition of subsequent boy groups.
