Big Daddy Weave

Big Daddy Weave is an American contemporary Christian band from Mobile, Alabama, whose members met while studying at the University of Mobile. Fronted by singer and guitarist Mike Weaver, the group built its sound around anthemic worship melodies and openly personal, faith-centered lyrics, positioning them firmly within the CCM and worship-pop tradition.

The band found its widest audience with «Redeemed», a song reflecting Mike Weaver's own testimony of overcoming addiction, which became one of the defining worship anthems of its era. Other tracks such as «Overwhelmed», «The Lion and the Lamb», and «The Only Name (Yours Will Be)» reinforced the group's reputation for direct, congregation-friendly songwriting built for both radio and church settings.

Over the years the band has toured alongside other Christian artists, including runs with Mark Schultz and Josh Wilson, and has released music through Fervent Records. Its lineup has combined guitar, keyboards, saxophone, and drums to give their worship songs a fuller, more textured pop-rock arrangement than typical praise-band instrumentation, helping the group sustain a long-running presence in Christian radio.
