beabadoobee, born Beatrice Ilejay Laus in Iloilo City, Philippines, and raised in London, is a singer-songwriter who emerged in the late 2010s with lo-fi, bedroom-pop guitar songs recorded largely on her own. Signed to Dirty Hit in 2018, she released a string of EPs (Lice, Patched Up, Loveworm, Space Cadet) that established her intimate, diaristic songwriting and jangly, 90s-influenced indie guitar sound, citing artists like Alex G, Karen O and Elliott Smith among her influences.

Her early song «Coffee» found unexpected mass exposure years later when it was sampled in Powfu's viral hit «death bed», introducing her to a much wider audience. She built on that momentum with her debut album Fake It Flowers, which leaned into 90s alt-rock textures, and her follow-up Beatopia, co-produced in part with The 1975's Matty Healy, which embraced a more eclectic, dreamlike palette and produced the breakout single «the perfect pair».

With her warm, conversational vocal style and songwriting that moves between vulnerability and defiance, beabadoobee has become one of the most recognizable voices in the 2020s indie and bedroom-pop revival, bridging nostalgic guitar rock with a distinctly modern, internet-native sensibility.
