Barry Manilow

Barry Manilow, born Barry Alan Pincus in Brooklyn, New York, is a singer, songwriter, arranger and classically trained pianist who became one of the defining voices of adult contemporary pop in the 1970s. He began his career behind the scenes, writing jingles for major brands and working as a musical director before serving as pianist and arranger for Bette Midler, producing her acclaimed debut album «The Divine Miss M».

Manilow's solo career took off with lushly orchestrated, melodically rich ballads that showcased his Broadway-honed sense of drama, including «Mandy», «Could It Be Magic», «I Write the Songs» and the theatrical hit «Copacabana».
