Barney

Barney is the purple anthropomorphic Tyrannosaurus rex at the center of Barney & Friends, the children's television franchise that debuted in 1992 and aired for years on PBS Kids in the United States. Conceived as a warm, endlessly patient dinosaur who comes to life to guide a group of children, Barney became one of the most recognizable characters in American children's television during the 1990s and 2000s.

Musically, the show built its educational format around simple, repetitive sing-along songs paired with basic choreography, designed to teach young viewers letters, numbers, manners, and emotional and social skills. Signature pieces like the «Barney Theme Song», «I Love You», and «B-I-N-G-O» became fixtures of early-childhood media, while the show also adapted traditional children's songs such as «Six Little Ducks» and «John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt» into its format.
