Bakermat

Bakermat is the stage name of Dutch DJ and producer Lodewijk Fluttert, from Markelo in the Overijssel region of the Netherlands. He emerged in the early 2010s as part of a wave of Dutch producers blending deep house with world-music textures, distinguishing himself through a warm, minimalist production style infused with jazz and soul influences.

His breakthrough came with «One Day (Vandaag)», built around a sample of Flairck's Dutch folk track, which introduced his signature approach of weaving vintage vocal and instrumental samples into tropical, groove-driven house productions. The single became a European club and radio hit and established the template he continued exploring on tracks like «Baianá» and «Living», both leaning into Latin and tropical rhythmic textures layered over deep house foundations.

Bakermat's music sits apart from mainstream EDM through its restraint: sparse arrangements, warm analog-leaning tones, and a focus on groove and melody over drops and buildups. He has continued to release singles that carry forward this jazzy, sample-driven deep house sound, maintaining a distinct identity within the crowded Dutch dance music scene.
