Bad Gyal

Bad Gyal, born Alba Farelo, is a Catalan singer and producer from Vilassar de Mar, near Barcelona, who emerged in the mid-2010s as one of the most distinctive voices in Spanish urban music. Her sound draws heavily on Jamaican dancehall, reggaetón and Caribbean rhythms, filtered through a lo-fi, internet-native aesthetic that made her an early fixture of the alternative reggaetón and Latin trap scene coming out of Spain, singing largely in Spanish and Catalan slang with a playful, unfiltered attitude.

She first drew wide attention with her 2016 mixtape «Slow Wine Mixtape», which included the breakout hit «Fiebre», a track that helped define her early dembow-driven sound and established her as a fresh voice diverging sharply from Spain's traditional pop landscape. She followed this with the 2018 mixtape «Worldwide Angel» and the 2021 EP «Warm Up», continuing to build a devoted fanbase through singles like «Blin Blin» and «Santa María».

In January 2024, Bad Gyal released her long-awaited debut studio album, «La Joia», which had been announced months earlier at a Barcelona concert. Featuring hits such as «Zorra» and «Chulo pt.2», the record further cemented her status as a leading figure bridging dancehall, reggaetón and pop for a global Spanish-speaking audience, known for her direct, sensual lyricism and genre-blurring production choices.
