Ayra Starr

Ayra Starr, born Oyikansola Sarah Aderibigbe on June 14, 2002, is a Nigerian singer based in Benin City who emerged as one of Afrobeats' leading young stars. She was signed to Don Jazzy's Mavin Records after catching his attention with early demos, and released her self-titled debut EP Ayra Starr in January 2021, featuring standout tracks like «Away» and «Sare».

Her debut studio album, 19 & Dangerous, arrived in August 2021, with «Bloody Samaritan» as its lead single alongside guest features from CKay and Fousheé. The album charted her coming-of-age journey into adulthood and stardom, blending Afrobeats with R&B and pop sensibilities delivered through her smooth, distinctive vocal style shaped in part by her Yoruba inflection.

Ayra Starr went on to build an international profile with hits including «Rush», «Commas» and «Sability», becoming one of the most recognizable voices of the new Afrobeats generation alongside labelmates on Mavin Records. Her music is known for confident, youthful energy paired with melodic hooks, cementing her as a leading figure bridging Nigerian pop with global audiences.
