About the artist
ayokay, born Alexander O'Neill, is a producer and electronic-leaning pop musician from the Detroit area of Michigan. His career took off through a close collaboration with childhood friend Quinn XCII, most notably on the breakthrough single «Kings of Summer», a warm, summery track that found an unlikely second life as the walk-up song for a Major League Baseball outfielder, pushing it to wider recognition and helping the duo land a deal with Columbia Records.
While ayokay continued producing much of Quinn XCII's output, he steadily built a solo identity defined by glossy, melodic electronic-pop production, often built around warm synths, laid-back rhythms, and emotionally direct hooks. His solo work moves between introspective, romantic songwriting and upbeat, festival-ready energy, placing him within the wave of Midwest-rooted producers who blend indie-pop songwriting with electronic textures.
His debut EP, «4ft to Infinity», introduced him as a solo artist beyond his production work, and he followed it with a run of singles featuring collaborators such as Chelsea Cutler and Baker Grace. Tracks like «Stay With Me», «Sleepless Nights», and «Too Young» reflect his knack for combining accessible pop songwriting with polished electronic production, cementing his place as both a behind-the-scenes producer and a recognizable artist in his own right.
