Au/Ra

Au/Ra is the stage name of Jamie Lou Stenzel, a German-born singer-songwriter working in alternative electro-pop. Raised largely on the Caribbean island of Antigua, she grew up around music through her father, a DJ and producer, and began writing and releasing songs while still a teenager. Her 2016 debut single «Concrete Jungle» led to a deal with Sony Music UK and set the tone for a sound built on airy, distinctive vocals layered over moody, electronic production.

Her profile rose sharply with «Panic Room» in 2018, especially after a remix by CamelPhat turned it into a UK chart hit, and with «Darkside», her collaboration with DJ Alan Walker, which became one of the most streamed tracks of her career. These successes were bookended by two EPs, Outsiders and X Games, that established her recurring themes of isolation, identity and emotional unease rendered through minimalist, atmospheric pop.

In 2021 she released her debut full-length album, Soundtrack to an Existential Crisis, a more personal and confessional record exploring mental health struggles. Across her catalogue, Au/Ra has carved out a niche at the intersection of pop songwriting and electronic production, working with dance producers while keeping her own voice and lyrical vulnerability at the center of the music.
