Atif Aslam

Atif Aslam is a Pakistani singer and actor from Wazirabad, Punjab, celebrated as one of the most prominent voices to emerge from South Asian pop and playback music. He initially aspired to be a professional cricketer and pursued a computer science degree, but his talent for singing, honed in college music competitions and inspired by the legendary Qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, redirected him toward music.

He rose to fame with the band Jal before establishing a hugely successful solo career, becoming a defining voice of Pakistani pop and later a major playback singer in Bollywood. Known for his distinctive high chest-voice technique, or vocal belting, Atif Aslam has recorded numerous chart-topping hits across Urdu and Hindi cinema, including songs such as «Tera Hone Laga Hoon», «Pehli Nazar Mein», «Tu Jaane Na» and «Aadat».

His emotionally charged delivery and versatility across romantic ballads and upbeat numbers have made him a favorite of Indian and Pakistani film composers alike, with tracks like «Dil Diyan Gallan» and «O Meri Laila» becoming massive hits.
