Asha Bhosle

Asha Bhosle, born on September 8, 1933, is one of the towering figures of Indian playback singing, a member of the storied Mangeshkar musical family and younger sister of the legendary Lata Mangeshkar. Across a career spanning roughly eight decades she has lent her voice to thousands of Hindi film songs and recordings in numerous other Indian languages, becoming synonymous with the golden and later disco-influenced eras of Bollywood soundtrack music.
