Art Garfunkel

Art Garfunkel is an American singer born in 1941, best known as one half of Simon & Garfunkel, the duo he formed with childhood friend Paul Simon that became one of the defining acts of the 1960s folk-rock movement. His pure, high tenor voice, especially prominent on songs like «The Sound of Silence», «Mrs. Robinson» and «Bridge Over Troubled Water», helped define an era of introspective, harmony-driven songwriting and earned the duo multiple Grammy Awards along with induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

After Simon & Garfunkel disbanded, Garfunkel pursued a solo career marked by a gentle, romantic vocal style well suited to orchestral pop and adult contemporary arrangements. He scored several hit singles in the 1970s, including «All I Know» and a rendition of «I Only Have Eyes for You», and continued releasing albums over the following decades that showcased his interpretive skill with both standards and contemporary material.
