Arnob

Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, known simply as Arnob, is a Bangladeshi singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer whose work sits at the intersection of Bengali folk tradition and contemporary singer-songwriter sensibilities. He first came to wider attention as a founding member of the indie folk band Bangla before establishing himself as a solo artist.

Arnob's solo breakthrough came with the title track «She Je Boshe Ache», written for a Bangladeshi TV drama, which appeared on his debut solo album «Chaina Bhabish» in 2005. He went on to release further influential albums, including «Hok Kolorob» and «Doob», that cemented his reputation as one of the most distinctive voices in modern Bangladeshi music, blending acoustic textures, Bengali folk melodies, and understated, introspective songwriting. Beyond his own albums, Arnob has composed film scores for acclaimed Bengali-language films such as «Monpura», «Aynabaji», and «Under Construction», and produced the influential first season of Coke Studio Bangla, extending his influence over a new generation of Bangladeshi musicians. His catalogue, including songs like «Tomar Jonno» and «Shondhatara», remains central to contemporary Bengali folk-pop.
