About the artist
Armin van Buuren is a Dutch DJ, record producer and remixer from Leiden, Netherlands, widely regarded as one of the defining figures of modern trance music. He rose to international prominence in the late 1990s and has since built one of the most recognizable brands in electronic music through his weekly radio show A State of Trance, which broadcasts to millions of listeners worldwide and has spawned its own festival series and record label, Armada Music, which he co-founded.
His sound blends euphoric, melodic trance with elements of progressive house and pop, often built around soaring builds and emotional breakdowns. Van Buuren has repeatedly topped the DJ Mag Top 100 poll and earned a Grammy nomination for «This Is What It Feels Like» featuring Trevor Guthrie, one of several crossover singles that brought his music to mainstream audiences alongside tracks like «Blah Blah Blah» and «Sunny Days».
Beyond his own discography, which includes albums such as «Balance», he has collaborated widely across the dance scene and mentored younger producers through his label. His influence on trance as both a performer and tastemaker has made him a central figure in the genre for over two decades.
