Armin van Buuren es un DJ, productor discográfico y remixer neerlandés de Leiden, considerado una de las figuras definitorias de la música trance moderna. Alcanzó fama internacional a finales de los años noventa y desde entonces ha construido una de las marcas más reconocibles de la música electrónica gracias a su programa de radio semanal A State of Trance, que llega a millones de oyentes en todo el mundo y ha dado lugar a su propio festival y al sello discográfico Armada Music, que cofundó.
Su sonido combina un trance eufórico y melódico con elementos de progressive house y pop, a menudo construido sobre subidas y breakdowns emotivos. Van Buuren ha encabezado repetidamente la encuesta DJ Mag Top 100 y recibió una nominación al Grammy por «This Is What It Feels Like» junto a Trevor Guthrie, uno de varios sencillos crossover que llevaron su música al público mainstream junto a temas como «Blah Blah Blah» y «Sunny Days».
Más allá de su propia discografía, que incluye álbumes como «Balance», ha colaborado ampliamente en la escena dance y ha impulsado a productores más jóvenes a través de su sello.
