Arisa

Arisa is the stage name of Italian singer-songwriter and actress Rosalba Pippa, born in Genoa in 1982 and raised in Basilicata. The name Arisa is an acronym formed from the initials of her family members. She trained at the CET, the music school founded by Mogol, before breaking through in 2008 by winning the SanremoLab contest, which earned her a place in the Nuove Proposte category of the Sanremo Festival with the song «Sincerità». The track topped the Italian singles chart for six consecutive weeks and launched her debut album.

Arisa quickly became a fixture of the Sanremo Festival, returning in subsequent years in the Big Artists category with songs such as «Malamorenò». Her music blends pop sensibilities with soulful, R&B-inflected vocal delivery, and she has built a reputation for a distinctive, powerful voice paired with an eccentric visual style. Over the years she has explored different sounds across albums that mix ballads with more upbeat, danceable material.

Beyond music, Arisa has worked as an actress and has taken part in television talent shows as a coach.
