Arcángel

Arcángel, born Austin Agustín Santos in New York and raised largely in Puerto Rico, is one of the most influential figures in reggaetón and Latin trap. He began his career in the early 2000s as part of the duo Arcángel y De la Ghetto, scoring hits like «Traicionera» and becoming a fixture of the island's underground reggaetón scene before going solo in 2007.

His debut solo album «El Fenómeno» (2008) cemented him as a leading voice in the genre with tracks such as «Por Amar a Ciegas». As Latin trap emerged in the following decade, Arcángel adapted early and decisively, releasing songs like «Flow Cabrón» and «Me Acostumbré» that helped define the sound's transition from street mixtapes to mainstream urbano. His melodic yet gritty flow, sharp wordplay and instinct for hooks made him a sought-after collaborator across generations of Latin artists.

Over a career spanning two decades, Arcángel has worked with major names in reggaetón and trap, including Bad Bunny, and continues to release hits such as «La Jumpa» and «Tu No Vive Así», bridging the genre's classic reggaetón era with its contemporary trap-driven sound. His lyrics often explore love, heartbreak and everyday street life, giving his catalog both commercial appeal and lasting credibility among genre purists.
