Antoon

Antoon, born Valentijn Verkerk, is a Dutch singer from Hoorn who blends hip-hop and pop influences into an accessible, melodic sound. He was drawn to music from a young age, studying at the Herman Brood Academie and learning drums and classical piano, a background that shows in the polished musicality of his songs.

In 2020 he became the first artist signed to Dreamteam Music, the label founded by fellow Dutch artist Big2. Under that deal he released his debut album De Nacht Is Van Ons, which included the track «Hyperventilatie». His partnership with Big2 continued beyond the debut, culminating in a joint EP called Heilig Water released in November 2020, home to standout tracks including «Leuk».

Songs such as «Hallo», «Bootje», «Hotelschool» and «Onweer» further established his catchy, radio-friendly style, mixing Dutch-language lyrics with contemporary pop and hip-hop production. Antoon has become one of the recognizable voices in the current wave of Dutch-language pop, known for hooks that stick and a warm, conversational vocal delivery.
