Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish singer, songwriter and activist, celebrated for her powerful, androgynous voice and one of the defining figures of 1980s pop through her work in the duo Eurythmics alongside Dave Stewart. She won a scholarship to London's Royal Academy of Music as a flutist before turning to popular music, eventually meeting Stewart and forming a series of bands that led to Eurythmics.

Eurythmics achieved international stardom with «Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)», a top ten hit in multiple countries, and went on to blend new wave, synthpop and soul across a run of acclaimed albums. Lennox's striking visual presence and vocal range became inseparable from the group's identity, and the duo's sound evolved from stark electronic textures toward a more mainstream, soulful pop sensibility.
