About the artist
Anna Nalick is an American singer-songwriter born in 1984, known for blending pop and rock sensibilities with introspective, confessional lyrics. She rose to prominence with her 2005 debut album Wreck of the Day, whose lead single «Breathe (2 AM)» became a radio hit and remains her signature song, praised for its conversational vocal delivery and piano-driven arrangement.
After a contract dispute with her label around the release of her second record, Nalick parted ways with Sony and released Broken Doll & Odds & Ends independently in 2011, giving her greater creative control over her sound. She continued this independent path with At Now in 2017 and The Blackest Crow in 2019, both of which lean further into acoustic and singer-songwriter textures.
Throughout her career Nalick has been noted for her warm, expressive voice and diary-like songwriting, placing her among the singer-songwriters who emerged in the mid-2000s adult contemporary and pop-rock scene alongside artists exploring similarly personal, guitar-and-piano-based storytelling.
