Андрей Губин (Andrei Gubin)

Andrei Gubin is a Russian pop singer, composer and songwriter who became one of the most popular recording artists in Russia during the late 1990s and 2000s. Born in Ufa, he built a career defined by melodic, synth-driven pop songs and a distinctive, boyish vocal style that made him a fixture of Russian radio and television during his peak years.

His best-known songs, including «Ночь» (Night), «Зима-холода» (Winter Cold) and «Девушки как звёзды» (Girls Like Stars), combined catchy electronic-pop production with romantic, often melancholic lyrics, and remain widely recognized touchstones of Russian pop music from that era. He wrote and produced much of his own material, contributing to a sound that stood apart from many of his contemporaries through its lighter, synth-pop-leaning arrangements.

In the early 2010s Gubin largely withdrew from public life and stepped back from touring and recording, citing health issues, and has since made only occasional public appearances. Despite his long absence from the stage, his songs from the 1990s and 2000s continue to be widely remembered as part of the soundtrack of that period in Russian popular music.
