About the artist
Amy Shark is the stage name of Australian singer-songwriter Amy Billings (née Cushway), from the Gold Coast, Queensland. She began releasing music independently under her own name and briefly as Little Sleeper before adopting the Amy Shark moniker in 2014, initially building an audience through self-released tracks online. Her breakthrough came in 2016 with the single «Adore», a raw, confessional pop song that reached the top of the Australian charts, went platinum, and placed second in the Triple J Hottest 100 poll for that year.
Shark's sound blends indie pop with sharp, diaristic songwriting, often centered on heartbreak, longing, and blunt emotional honesty delivered in an intimate, conversational vocal style. Following «Adore», she released the «Night Thinker» EP in 2017, featuring the single «Weekends», which further established her as one of Australia's most compelling new songwriting voices.
Her debut full-length album, «Love Monster», arrived in 2018, led by the top-ten single «I Said Hi». The record consolidated her reputation as a leading figure in contemporary Australian pop, known for turning personal vulnerability into widely relatable, radio-ready songs.
