Amy Lee

Amy Lee is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist best known as the lead vocalist, pianist, and co-founder of the rock band Evanescence, which she formed in Little Rock, Arkansas, alongside guitarist Ben Moody in the mid-1990s. Evanescence rose to international prominence in 2003 with their album Fallen and the breakout single «Bring Me to Life», blending gothic, symphonic, and alternative metal elements with Lee’s powerful, classically trained voice to create a sound that was both heavy and melodic.

Beyond her work with Evanescence, Lee has pursued solo and collaborative projects, including composing music for film soundtracks; her work on the animated film Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, featuring songs like «Sally’s Song», showcased her ability to write in a more theatrical, orchestral register. Her voice, capable of shifting from delicate, haunting vulnerability to soaring intensity, has become one of the defining vocal styles of 2000s alternative and gothic rock.
