Amir Eid - أمير عيد

Amir Eid, born November 26, 1983, is an Egyptian singer, songwriter, guitarist, and composer, best known as the founder and frontman of the Cairo-based rock band Cairokee. The band rose to national and regional prominence around the Egyptian Revolution of 2011, when its songs became anthems of the protest movement, most famously «Sout Al Horeya» (Voice of Freedom), which captured the mood of the uprising and spread widely across the Arab world.

Cairokee's sound blends alternative and mainstream Arabic rock with pop and R&B textures, and Amir Eid has continued to write lyrics that address social and political themes alongside more personal, romantic songs. Tracks such as «Ala Bab El Cima», «Wahshteeny», and «Hekmet El Ayam» show his range from introspective ballads to upbeat, guitar-driven pop-rock.

Beyond Cairokee, Amir Eid has released solo material and collaborated with other prominent Egyptian and Arab musicians, cementing his status as one of the defining voices of contemporary Egyptian rock.
