Amaia

Amaia Romero, known simply as Amaia, is a Spanish singer from Pamplona, Navarre, who rose to national fame after winning Operación Triunfo 2017, the country's flagship televised singing competition. Her distinctive breathy, intimate vocal delivery and understated stage presence set her apart from typical talent-show contestants and won her a devoted following well beyond the show's run.

Following her victory, she represented Spain at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest alongside fellow OT finalist Alfred, performing the duet «Tu canción», which had won the show's dedicated Eurovision selection gala. She subsequently built a solo career rooted in indie pop and cantautora (singer-songwriter) traditions, favoring introspective lyrics and sparse, atmospheric production over conventional radio-pop formulas.
