About the artist
Alta Consigna is a Mexican regional group formed in Tijuana in 2014, part of the sierreño movement that blends acoustic guitar, requinto and tuba with youthful, romantic songwriting. The band built its early following largely through social media, quickly expanding its reach from northern Mexico into the southern United States, where sierreño and corridos verdes resonate with young bicultural audiences.
The lineup originally featured Crecer Germán as lead vocalist and bassist alongside a group of young musicians handling requinto, tuba and additional vocals. In 2015 Germán left to pursue a solo career, a transition the band absorbed by bringing in a new bassist and continuing without pause, a testament to how quickly they had established a group identity beyond any single member.
Songs like «No Te Pido Mucho», «Culpable Tu» and «Tu Carcel» showcase the band's focus on heartbreak and longing delivered in the melodic, harmony-driven style typical of sierreña music. Alta Consigna released albums in rapid succession during its early years, including «Así nací» and «Culpable tú», cementing its place among the wave of young sierreño acts that modernized the genre for a new generation of listeners.
