Allie X, the stage name of Alexandra Ashley Hughes, is a Canadian singer-songwriter who began performing independently in Toronto in the mid-2000s under her own name, releasing self-produced records and playing an eclectic mix of indie pop, jazz and electronic-tinged material largely sold at live shows.
