About the artist
Alice Deejay is a Dutch Eurodance and vocal trance project formed by producers Wessel van Diepen, Dennis van den Driesschen, Sebastiaan Molijn and Eelke Kalberg, fronted by singer Judith Anna Pronk. The project became one of the defining acts of late-1990s Eurodance and vocal trance, capturing the genre's blend of driving synth basslines, uplifting melodic hooks and Pronk's airy vocal delivery.
Their breakthrough single, «Better Off Alone» (1999), became a worldwide dancefloor anthem and one of the most recognizable tracks of the era, reportedly selling over a million albums and five million singles globally. The song's instantly identifiable bassline and hook helped push the group beyond the club scene into mainstream pop charts across multiple countries.
Beyond their signature hit, Alice Deejay released other singles such as «Back in My Life», «Will I Ever» and «I Can See (See It in Your Eyes)», maintaining a consistent formula of catchy trance-pop production. The project remains a touchstone of the Eurodance era and continues to be referenced as one of the genre's most commercially successful acts.
